Our History

Nestled in the scenic Adelaide foothills, The Duck Inn has been a charming venue located in the heart of Coromandel Valley for nearly 40 years. 

Founded by Maxwell Cooper, an Australian Master Brewer, The Duck Inn opened its doors on 4 November 1987. It has since grown into a beloved part of Coromandel Valley’s history and identity. 

The venue combines rustic charm with modern comforts, featuring a 100-seater restaurant that includes a bright, sunlit atrium perfect for long lunches or relaxed dinners. Our cozy front bar is adorned with warm wooden fixtures and complemented by two open fireplaces that create a welcoming atmosphere during winter. 

Our outdoor deck is a standout feature: a semi-enclosed, sun-soaked space surrounded by greenery, equipped with café blinds, heating, and fans, making it comfortable year-round. The Duck is a true local gem, balancing its relaxed, family-friendly vibe with a sense of community spirit. 

Our crowd reflects the area’s laid-back charm, from locals enjoying knockoffs and the Friday bar raffle to families and seniors who make The Duck their go-to for dining and celebrations. We’re proud to be a hub for our loyal regulars and an inviting spot for first-time visitors.
